What Do I Need to Get a Library Card?

You must present documents that 1) prove identity and 2) prove you live in West Virginia. Minors under 16 must have an adult present. A photo ID (such as a driver’s license) that includes your current mailing address will be sufficient. If your photo ID does not have a current address, you would need to show documentation to prove your place of residence.

Examples include:

  • driver’s license or Government-issued ID
  • utility bill
  • bank book
  • apartment lease
  • current postmarked letter with your name and address
